Lauren Uyeji, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with clinical experience across a wide range of settings — from community outpatient to intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and high-acuity inpatient programs. This breadth of experience has given me the opportunity to work with people from different walks of life and at different points in their struggles and has contributed to my development as a clinician who values both flexibility and depth.

I offer trauma-informed care. My training is grounded in evidence-based approaches, with particular expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma. I approach each client with genuine curiosity about their specific experience and tailor my approach accordingly. Central to my work is the belief that both acceptance and change are possible, as is movement toward a more meaningful life, even when the path isn't clear.

I work with adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, panic, OCD, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, stress, burnout, perfectionism, and insomnia. I place particular value on meeting people where they are — taking seriously the full context of someone's experience, including the ways that culture, background, and identity shape how people understand and relate to their struggles. I bring cultural humility and patience to my work, with a focus on collaboration, compassion, and helping people develop the kind of self-understanding that can move them forward.

I hold an MA in Psychology from Temple University and a BS in Psychology from the University of Washington, and I have been providing therapy since 2014. I am licensed in New Jersey (LPC 37PC00813200) and Washington State (LMHC LH61018187).
