New Parent & Postpartum Groups
at Princeton Psychotherapy Center
Becoming a parent is one of the biggest transitions a person can go through, and it's normal to feel disoriented by it. Books, the Internet, and social media offer endless information and advice, but it’s hard to know where to start or who to trust. We offer two therapist-led programs to support parents and parents-to-be. Click the links below or scroll down to learn more and register or inquire.

This is a one-time, 2-hour workshop designed to help parents-to-be prepare for the newborn phase, or the “fourth trimester.” Individuals and couples, birthing and non-birthing parents are welcome to attend.
Why attend?
For individuals and couples preparing to welcome a baby, the weeks after birth bring real psychological and emotional demands, alongside the physical ones. This therapist-led workshop is designed to help you prepare for that transition before it begins. Our goal is to help you understand what to expect emotionally and to help you develop coping skills that you can use during challenging moments.

New Parent/Postpartum Group

September 23-October 28, 2026 (6 sessions)
$25 per session

This weekly in-person group supports parents navigating life with a new baby (up to one year). Open to birthing and non-birthing parents, it offers a consistent space to share what's actually going on, ask questions, and hear from others in the same transition. You don't need a diagnosis or a specific problem to attend — the group is open to anyone who wants more support during this time.
Why attend?
New parents are often overwhelmed by the scale of the change: lost independence, shifting identity, strain on partnerships, grief for the life they had before. There’s power in realizing you’re not the only one navigating these struggles, and in learning from other parents how they are getting through them. Connecting with others in this way can bring validation and relief, which can translate into meaningful improvements in mood and day-to-day functioning.
